The Rock Responds to Cena

The Rock returns to WWE RAW tonight to respond to the John Cena rap last week. Taking a page out of the TNA playbook, The Rock and Cena have taken their war to the world of social media and continue to hype the most anticipated WrestleMania match in five years that won’t be taking place at #27.

The return of The Rock is one of the most fascinating stories of the last several years. There is no doubt that The Rock has revitalized WWE business with a huge increase in RAW ratings and fan interest across the board in WrestleMania. The downside in all of this is that you now have an audience of millions buzzing about a match that has no chance of taking of place in the near future.

There are a lot of false promises and innuendo being pushed that won’t be paying off for an audience that could turn angry when they realize they have been duped.

Don’t get me wrong, I am just as excited as the next guy to see The Rock back in the WWE. The Rock’s return promo was the best promo I have seen cut in wrestling since well, the last time The Rock appeared on television which was the SmackDown 10th anniversary special. The immediate returns have been awesome with RAW generating a 3.9 rating last week along with a huge buzz online about The Rock and WrestleMania.

Unfortunately there is a dangerous game being played here because for one, The Rock promised never to go away and well, he is going to go away fairly soon. Two, The Miz and the WWE title appear to be an afterthought to John Cena in favor of The Rock who will not be wrestling at WrestleMania 27. The payoff will appear to be big short term business but is anyone really sticking around at this point to see the Cena vs. Miz rematches after the Rock departs following WrestleMania 27?

The other interesting thing here is that the WWE appear to be missing some big opportunities at promoting The Rock’s RAW appearances. The Rock was never officially promoted to appear on RAW two weeks ago, thus costing the WWE a huge potential audience. A big audience tuned in last week to see The Rock who didn’t appear. Over the weekend John Cena and The Rock teased a Rock appearance through social media. There was no advertisement last week at all on RAW that The Rock would be on tonight nor was anything mentioned until Sunday on John Cena’s Twitter account.

These are the same kind of mistakes that fans and media have been ridiculing Dixie Carter and TNA for over the last year and now you have the WWE doing the same thing.
The buzz started Sunday when John Cena posted the following tweet on his Twitter account.

“What I said on mon. I think he may have something planned for tomorrow. I can not wait. Ps..miz yer still a dauwsh.  ”

Cena than posted a new message this morning in response to a fan.

“@SAMMY_MORALES yeah…I expected a lil more…but im sure tonight will be good. Ill be waiting to see him”

In response, The Rock posted a picture of himself stomping a John Cena t-shirt on his Facebook Fan Page with the quote, “…On RAW…my response…”

So regardless of the questionable promotion it is a real fun time right now to be a wrestling fan. The Rock vs. John Cena is certainly the hottest feud in pro wrestling in the last five years at least. The Rock has told friends and media that he will never wrestle again following an injury on a movie set. However, there is something said about the lure of the crowd and the excitement surrounding his current return that could seduce him back in the ring. It won’t be WrestleMania 27 but there is certainly plenty on the table to start planning for a WrestleMania 28 showdown.

In the meantime, John Cena vs. The Miz will have to do.

HTC Announces 'Merge' Android CDMA World Slider Phone

HTC has officially announced the HTC Merge, described as the company's first Android-based CDMA "world phone".

Based on the specifications that HTC has published, the new Merge slider phone looks somewhat comparable to the EVO Shift 4G, the slider version of the EVO 4G that Sprint and HTC announced in May of last year.

The HTC Merge is slated to be available from multiple North American operators beginning in spring 2011, HTC said, which almost certainly means Verizon, among others. It will also be HTC's first Android-based CDMA workd phone, the company said. So far, LTE support has not been announced.

The Merge includes a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, slightly larger than the EVO Shift. But HTC didn't reveal the resolution of the display, either.

A full QWERTY slide-out keyboard will be included, HTC said, although it's also unclear whether that will be a four- or five-row design.

Naturally, HTC will include the Sense interface on top of the Android 2.2 OS, with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, and 720p video captures. The image does not seem to include a front-facing camera.

"HTC prides itself on creating unique solutions that meet the needs of different customers, and with features like a full keyboard and global 3G roaming, the HTC Merge smartphone is the perfect example of this commitment," said Jason Mackenzie, president, HTC Americas, in a statement. "Combining the functionality of Android with the HTC Sense experience, the HTC Merge is the perfect device for those customers who are looking for a reliable mobile experience with the features and functionality of a smartphone, whether it's at home or travelling around the world."

Epic

"loVe...." That is only one word. Don't let the random caps and four periods get you confused. A lot of people get that word confused with trust, beliefs and faith among other nonsense it all just becomes ridiculous.

Most people haven't even figured out what love means. They don't take the time to figure out all the little things about it first. Love is a bigger word than it appears to be.

But I think "love" is word on its own. I myself have yet to discover what it means. Have I found it? I will let you know as soon as I know.

Report: iPad 2 Light On New Features

With less than a week to go until Apple unveils the iPad 2, a new batch of rumors have emerged to suggest that despite previous reports, the device will not sport a higher resolution display or an SD card slot.

According to Engadget, these additions were intended to make it into the upcoming version but due to unspecified "engineering issues" they will be omitted. The tech blog cited unnamed sources familiar with the product, but claims that previous tips from the same sources have been "dead right" on Apple product development.

What features will the iPad 2 have then? The blog echoes previous reports saying that the device will have a thinner build than the previous model at the same screen resolution, 512MBs of RAM, the next generation of iOS, a more powerful A5 processor, and integrated support for Apple's MobileMe service.

Of course, all will be revealed next Wednesday, March 2, at Apple's special event, where IGN will be bringing you live updates from the event at 10:00 a.m. PST/1:00 p.m. EST.

WWE: Possible Storylines for The Undertaker After WrestleMania 27

Now it’s a pretty safe assumption that Undertaker is facing Triple H at WrestleMania 27.
It’s also a pretty safe assumption that Undertaker is going to defeat Triple H at WrestleMania 27!
But what’s in-store for Undertaker after WrestleMania?
I think it will be either one of two things…
Wade Barrett
He’s responsible for having Undertaker “buried” at Bragging Rights, so it would only be natural that he sets his sights on him.
When Undertaker came out on Raw last Monday, for all we know he was about to call out Wade Barrett, but Triple H interrupted him before he could even get a microphone.
After WrestleMania, could we see what Undertaker has to say to Mr. Barrett?
I think if played out correctly, this could be a very brutal and intriguing storyline with two of SmackDown’s biggest guys.
John Cena
I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about this feud as of late. After I sat down to think about it….it makes sense!
Now this is completely just me taking a huge guess for the entire storyline, but I’m going to break it down into parts.
1. After WrestleMania, Undertaker takes time off so he doesn’t get injured again.
2. At WrestleMania, John Cena turns into a heel.
3. For the next 7 months he feuds with various faces, tears apart the “universe” and has a pretty dominating win-loss record.
4. However sometime between TLC and Elimination Chamber things start to change. John Cena can’t win a match, he has no backstage friends and no one respects him.
5. The night after Elimination Chamber, Cena gets all sorts of emotional as the crowd chants “you suck” and “you can’t win.” That’s when Cena goes into a fit of rage and proclaims he can beat anybody and will prove it. He challenges Undertaker on the spot.
6. After a few moments of nothing, Undertaker makes his return and accepts John Cena’s challenge. It’s announced somewhere that this is Undertaker’s final WrestleMania.
7. For the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, John Cena constantly attacks Undertaker from behind, beating and bloodying him to prove to everyone that John Cena fears no man.
8. Eventually Undertaker starts to get the upper-hand, at which point Cena runs away every chance he gets.
9.  Undertaker then tells Cena at WrestleMania he won’t have a chance to run anywhere…because at WrestleMania it will be John Cena vs. Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match.
10. At WrestleMania 28 Undertaker comes out with Paul Bearer and the druids one last time before entering the cell. John Cena’s music hits and he walks to the outside of the cell and refuses to get in. He taunts Undertaker before walking away but Kane comes out of nowhere and grabs Cena and puts into inside the cell, Kane then locks the cell and him and Undertaker both signify to one another that they are on the same page once more.
11. After a grueling 30 minute match, Undertaker comes out victorious with his customary tombstone piledriver.
12. He walks out of the cell and sees Paul Bearer, who points Undertaker to the top of the cell. He hugs Paul out of respect and stares down the cell.
13. Undertaker climbs on top of the cell one last time and proceeds to kneel before the crowd until the cell raises up to the rafters with Undertaker: His version of riding off into the sunset.
So what do you guys think?
Is either of these plausible?
Do you think that he’s going to have a storyline with someone else?

Let the debating….begin!

Also, I know it's highly unlikely a Hell in a Cell match will happen because WrestleMania 28 is taking place at an open stadium....but imagine how epic this could be!
