With less than a week to go until Apple unveils the iPad 2, a new batch of rumors have emerged to suggest that despite previous reports, the device will not sport a higher resolution display or an SD card slot.
According to Engadget, these additions were intended to make it into the upcoming version but due to unspecified "engineering issues" they will be omitted. The tech blog cited unnamed sources familiar with the product, but claims that previous tips from the same sources have been "dead right" on Apple product development.
What features will the iPad 2 have then? The blog echoes previous reports saying that the device will have a thinner build than the previous model at the same screen resolution, 512MBs of RAM, the next generation of iOS, a more powerful A5 processor, and integrated support for Apple's MobileMe service.
Of course, all will be revealed next Wednesday, March 2, at Apple's special event, where IGN will be bringing you live updates from the event at 10:00 a.m. PST/1:00 p.m. EST.
